Striving for Excellence

Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart

Without a strong desire for excellence, especially in our businesses, our successes will be weak and possibly fail altogether! In practical terms, it means seeking continual improvement in everything we do. Even though we can never actually achieve perfection, all aspects of our life can always be improved upon. We must work at it with all our heart. To be Excellent, means to step up and step out. I’m reminded of the man who gave three men each a different sum of money to trade and invest. When the men reported back, two of the men had used the money wisely to earn a return, but the third man simply buried his money so as to take no risk. The man who gave the three men the money was very pleased with what the first two men did and of course, very displeased with what the third man did. Consequently, he took the third man’s money and gave it to one of the other men.

Excellence… we seek it and celebrate it, yet in our culture the word excellence is often overused and with little or no significance behind it. If we seek excellence for the right reasons we can gain a clearer understanding of our direction in our life. .

Striving for excellence is key to living a super-charged life. If you want to get the most out of life in every way, then you have to put the most into it. It must be with a strong effort…in all we do…with every undertaking. When we do, then life rewards us accordingly.

What does excellence look like?

I have spent years observing successful people. These people had within themselves- happiness, peace and contentment. Successful people have a sense of their own dignity. What do I mean by this? Well, they are all pretty solid in themselves; they have worked out who they are and what they are about. They don’t need to show off or brag about what they have or who they are. Their self esteem is not derived from their success…their success is derived from their willingness and strong desire to excel at all they do.

There have been very few people in my experience that exemplify this type of personality. As a company we seek-out the ones that do. They exemplify the traits defined here. This is the quality of people we bring to any and all projects we are involved with.
